Model-25 9" Color (160-0417) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 3917 TV/VCR The Radio Shack Model 25 9-inch Color TV/VCR is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for the Model 25 so you can enjoy it for years. Keep the Model 25 dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Liquids can contain minerals that corrode the electronic circuits. Use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type in the remote control. Always remove old or weak batteries. They can leak chemicals that can damage electronic circuits. Handle the Model 25 gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage its circuit boards and case and can cause it to work improperly. Use and store the Model 25 only in normal temperature environments. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and distort or melt plastic parts. Keep the Model 25 away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts. Modifying or tampering with your Model 25's internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate the Model 25's warranty and void your FCC authorization to operate it. If your Model 25 is not performing as it should, the suggestions in the troubleshooting guide might help. If you still have trouble, take the Model 25 to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. CABINET CLEANING Wipe the front panel and other exterior surfaces of the Model 25 with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Use a soft cloth dampened in lukewarm water to remove stains. CAUTION: Never use a solvent or alcohol. Do not spray cleaners or insecticides near the Model 25. Such chemicals might damage or discolor the outer surfaces. HEAD CLEANING Dirty video heads cause the playback picture to blur, even if the recorded signal is clear. However, video head cleaning is a delicate operation and requires a trained technician. For head cleaning information, contact your local Radio Shack store. Clean the heads only when picture quality is affected.
