Amplified UHF/VHF/FM Antenna (150-1611) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 31402 The Archer Amplifier Antenna is designed for dependable service under a variety of installation conditions and should provide years of excellent TV/FM reception. However, if you do have problems, the answer is probably listed below. If, after trying all the solutions listed, your problem is not resolved go to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. NO RECEPTION Check all connections to your antenna, power injector, and TV. Make sure you are in range of the desired stations - especially with mobile installations. POOR RECEPTION Make sure you are in range of the desired stations - especially with mobile installations. Be sure the antenna is pointed in the proper direction. Check if the stations is close to your location. The amplifier in this Antenna is very powerful and could provide too much signal for your TV, if the stations is close by. In such cases you may use a variable attenuator, such as our 15-578. INTERFERENCE A herringbone pattern in your picture might be caused by a nearby FM radio station. In such cases you may use an FM trap, such as our 15-557. Connect it between the VHF/UHF/FM splitter and the TV, on the VHF signal side. Other sources, such as CB or HAM radio, might also cause interference. In such cases you may use a filter, such as our 15-579. Connect it between the VHF/UHF/FM splitter and the TV, on the VHF signal side. NOTE: The use of the above filters and attenuator will require additional 75-to-300 ohm transformers and/or a different type of VHF/UHF/FM splitter (not supplied). (SP/yo 3/19/96)
