Set VHF-LO/VHF-HI/UHF to the desired band. Channels: Switch: 2 through 6 VHF-LO 7 through 13 VHF-HI above 13 UHF 4. Slowly turn TUNNING to the desired station. 5. Adjust the built-in telescoping antenna for the best picture and sound. 6. Turn BRIGHT and CONTRAST on the back of the TV/radio until the desired picture appears. 7. Turn V-HOLD on the back of the TV/radio to stop a TV picture's vertical roll. 8. Turn VOLUME to the desired sound level. 9. Set the Portavision's stand so the TV/radio resets at an angle which is comfortable to watch. TV Reception Tips If the image is blurry, unstable or has "snow", the signal reception may be weak. This can be caused by your location or the telescoping antenna. Building made with large amounts of steel can cause reception problems. Try changing the position and length of the antenna. If this does not help, use an outdoor antenna. If the image does not fill the screen during battery power operation, the batteries are weak. Check and replace the batteries as needed. RADIO OPERATION 1. Turn VOLUME toward the left. 2. Set TV/AM/FM to AM or FM as desired. 3. Slowly turn TUNING to the desired station. 4. Turn VOLUME to the desired sound level. Radio Reception Tips If FM reception is weak, this is generally caused by problems similar to those described in "TV" Reception Tips." Use a outdoor antenna for very weak stations. If AM reception is weak, this may be due to the distance of the station or operation of the TV/radio in a building with steel construction.
