Position the cassette with the main label facing up and the spine label facing out from the TV/VCP. Then, insert the cassette into the cassette compartment by gently pushing on the center of the cassette's spine until the TV/VCP completely draws in the cassette. The TV/VCP automatically turns on and the tape begins to play. CAUTION: Never insert anything except a VHS video cassette into the cassette compartment. You might damage the TV/VCP. 2. NOTE: You can press EJECT to eject a cassette when the TV/VCP is off. The power temporarily turns on while the cassette ejects. STORING YOUR VIDEO CASSETTES Eject and store the cassette after you play it. This helps protect the cassette and the TV/VCP's internal mechanisms from dust. Place your video cassettes in their protective boxes and store them in a cool, dry, dust-free area. Store the cassettes on end, not on their sides. This prevents improper setting of the tape spool. TAPE TENSION Tape can become wound too tightly around the cassette's spools after numerous playings. This can cause the cassette to load improperly and eject automatically when you insert it. On most video cassettes there is a brake-release plunger on the bottom center of the cassette. Use the tip of a pen or pencil to press the plunger and loosen the tape.
