Your Realistic Model 43 front-loading VHS VCR contains three of the most
advanced features available in home video recorders:

 HI-FI Stereo Sound - Delivers audio quality comparable to digital discs.

         HQ Circuitry - For improved picture sharpness compared to non-HQ 
                        VCRs.

  Multi-Channel Tele-
   vision Sound (MTS) - Decoding for reception and recording of the new 
                        stereo broadcasts.  The Model 43 can also receive 
                        and record the special audio programs (SAP) that 
                        accompany some MTS broadcasts.

                        Many other Model 43 features, listed below, help
                        assure convenience and ease of operation.

Please read this owner's manual carefully.  It has been prepared to assist
you with initial setup procedures and guide you in every day operation of
the Model 43 VCR.

On-Screen Programming - provides helpful menus on the TV screen for setting 
                        the clock and the automatic timer programs.

        111-Channel, 
         Digital-PLL, - lets you select any VHF or UHF Cable-Ready Tuner  
                        channel (2-83) and up to 41 different cable 
                        channels.  See "How the Tuner Works", on Faxback 
                        Doc. # 32917.

                        NOTE:  The tuner does not unscramble premium cable 
                               channels.

    14-Day, 4-Event, 
        Digital Timer - lets you make unattended recording of four different
                        programs during a 14 period.  Daily and weekly 
                        recording are also possible.  See "Automatic Timer 
                        Recording", on Faxback Doc. # 32921.

Quick Timer Recording - lets you start a recording immediately or within the 
                        next 24 hours, and stops recording automatically 
                        after the length of time you select (30 minutes to 
                        four hours).

       Full-Function 
       Remote Control - provides remote access to all tape motion controls.  
                        Control of power, channel selection, the TV/VCR 
                        switch, counter reset, memory counter, automatic 
                        timer recording, QTR, slow motion, quick motion, 
                        frame advance, and on-screen programming are also
                        included on the remote control.

     Input Selection 
               Switch - lets you manually select between VHF/UHF or audio/
                        video input to the VCR.  Some other VCRs have
                        automatic selection that limits video system 
                        connections.

                        Dual-Speed Visual Search, 
                        Frame-Advance, 
                        Quick-Motion & Freeze-Frame.

      PICTURE Control - lets you adjust the playback picture from soft to 
                        sharp.
