                                    Replacement

To replace the ink cartridge, proceed as follows:

  Open the top cover of the printer.

  Make sure the print head cartridge is at the extreme right-hand margin.

  Release ONLY the ink cartridge from the print head casing, WITHOUT
  releasing or removing the print head casing from its chamber in the
  printer.

  Remove the protective tape from the new ink cartridge.

  Insert the new cartridge in the print head casing IMMEDIATELY, pressing
  in until it clicks into place.

  Close the top cover of the printer.

  Press the FORM FEED key to resume printing.

CAUTION:  If printing does not recommence, repeat the entire print head
          replacement operation.

          If the quality of printing is not optimum, do the PRIME
          operation - Maintenance and Troubleshooting).

If the print quality deteriorates after having replaced the ink cartridge
several times, you must replace the entire print head (complete with outer
casing).

CAUTION:  Always keep the ink cartridges sealed until they are to be used.
          DO NOT touch the ink pad area on the cartridge.
          Do NOT attempt to re-ink the cartridge, as this damages the
          print head and the printer.
