Graffiti Reference Card (250-3116) Character Sets Faxback Doc. # 14968 This explains how to create characters that are not commonly used in writing. Because these characters are used infrequently, you don't have to learn them to use Graffiti effectively. Instead, simply refer to this document or the Graffiti Reference Card to learn any specific characters that you need. Additional Graffiti Punctuation Marks The punctuation marks and symbols are created the same way as the basic Graffiti punctuation marks. Tap once in the Writing Area of the Graffiti Window to activate the Punctuation Shift, and the next stroke that you make will create the punctuation mark or symbol. Writing Extended Characters All Extended Characters begin with the Extended Shift stroke in the Writing area of the Graffiti Window. When you draw the Extended Shift stroke in the Writing Area, a diagonal line will appear in the upper-left corner to show that you have activated Extended Shift. When Extended Shift is activated, the next stroke that you make will be recognized as an extended character. Writing International Characters To create accented characters, draw the stroke normally used to create the letter, followed by an accent stroke. The accent will be applied to the letter. Using these accent strokes, you can write many accented letters with Graffiti. Additional International Characters In addition, accented characters can be drawn in the normal lower case alphabet mode, without any special shifting or other characters. (TE/all-04/26/95)
