300 BPS Internal Modem (250-1003) Appendix Faxback Doc. # 4482 MODEM DIALING SPEEDS You have the flexibility of controlling the dialing speed when using the Auto Dial feature of the modem board. The two types of dialing are Pulse (Rotary), and Tone. Each type can be specified as either fast or slow. The dialing speeds are applicable only when you are using the modem in the Automatic/Originate Mode. The following contains information on the speeds at which you can control dialing: SLOW (S) In Slow speed, the modem will Pulse dial at 10 pulses per second and will Tone dial at 5 characters per second. Pulse or Tone dial is significantly faster than dialing a telephone number manually.
