PREPARING THE TAPE DRIVE:
To prepare the tape drive for installation, set the correct SCSI ID and Drive
Termination. The default setting for the 150 MB SCSI Tape Cartridge System 
is SCSI ID 2. The normal settings are shown in the following chart. For the
valid SCSI IDs, see the "Technical Information" section.

For a Tandy 3000 HL installation, you are now ready to install the tape
drive.  (Skip to "Installing the Tape Drive.")

CONFIGURATION:
There are two sets of pins, J4 and J5

Pin 3, 4, and 5 of J4 set the SCSI ID Number.  These three pins form a
three-bit binary number. with pin 3 the most significant and pin 5 the least
significant bit.  The factory default setting is 2 (used for xenix) so pin 3
and 5 are not connected to the unnumbered pins above pins 3 and 5.  Pin 4 is
connected to the jumper directly above it.

    │Pin 2 of J4 is enable parity. Factory default is jumpered so      │
    │parity is enabled.                                                │

    │Pin 1 of J4 is the terminator power option.  When the jumper is   │
    │installed (factory setting) power is supplied to the terminators. │
    │                                                                  │
    │Pin 2 of J5 is the Autoload option.  When installed a LOAD command│
    │must be issued before any other command will work.  The factory   │
    │setting is for the jumper to not be installed, therefore when     │
    │you insert a tape, it autoloads.                                  │
    │                                                                  │
    │Pin 1 of J5 is not a user option.                                 │

TERMINATORS:
The Tape Cartridge System has three terminators at the back. The terminators
are installed at the factory. If this tape drive is the only SCSI device
installed, leave the terminators in place. If more than one SCSI device is
installed, remove the terminators.
