150 MB SCSI Tape Cartridge (250-4169) Settings Faxback Doc. # 5185 PREPARING THE TAPE DRIVE: To prepare the tape drive for installation, set the correct SCSI ID and Drive Termination. The default setting for the 150 MB SCSI Tape Cartridge System is SCSI ID 2. The normal settings are shown in the following chart. For the valid SCSI IDs, see the "Technical Information" section. ┌───────────────────────────┬─────────────────────────────┐ │ NO SCSI HARD │ ONE SCSI HARD │ │ DRIVE ATTACHED * │ DRIVE ATTACHED │ ╞═══════════════════════════╪═════════════════════════════╡ │ Pins 2 and 4 are │ Pins 2 and 4 are │ │ jumpered on J4 │ jumpered on J4 │ │ │ │ │ Be sure the three │ Be sure the three │ │ terminator chips are │ terminator chips are │ │ installed at the back │ removed. │ │ of the driver │ │ └─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘ For a Tandy 3000 HL installation, you are now ready to install the tape drive. (Skip to "Installing the Tape Drive.") CONFIGURATION: There are two sets of pins, J4 and J5 Pin 3, 4, and 5 of J4 set the SCSI ID Number. These three pins form a three-bit binary number. with pin 3 the most significant and pin 5 the least significant bit. The factory default setting is 2 (used for xenix) so pin 3 and 5 are not connected to the unnumbered pins above pins 3 and 5. Pin 4 is connected to the jumper directly above it. ┌────────────┬─────────┬────────┬──────────────────────────────────┐ │ Pin 3 │ Pin 4 │ Pin 5 │ Address │ ├────────────┼─────────┼────────┼──────────────────────────────────┤ │ 0 │ 0 │ 0 │ 0 │ │ 0 │ 0 │ 1 │ 1 │ │ 0 │ 1 │ 0 │ 2 Xenix setting │ │ 0 │ 1 │ 1 │ 3 │ │ 1 │ 0 │ 0 │ 4 │ │ 1 │ 0 │ 1 │ 5 │ │ 1 │ 1 │ 0 │ 6 │ │ 1 │ 1 │ 1 │ 7 │ └────────────┴─────────┴────────┴──────────────────────────────────┘ ┌──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐ │Configuration │ ├──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤ │Pin 2 of J4 is enable parity.
