Pressure Zone Microphone (330-1090A) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 14682 BATTERY INSTALLATION Remove the battery compartment cover of the in-line power supply by pressing it in the direction of the arrow. Install one AA alkaline battery, such as our 23-552; observe polarity (+ and-) as indicated in the compartment. Note: For greater dynamic range and higher sound pressure level, you can use two 23-469 batteries. If you use these higher voltage batteries, you must remove them when not using the mic. Caution: When the PZM is not in use, leave the ON/STAND BY/OFF switch set to OFF. If you will not use the PZM for a week or more, remove the battery. Never leave a weak or dead battery in the battery compartment. Even "leak proof" batteries can leak damaging chemicals. CONNECTION AND SWITCH SETTINGS You may connect the PZM to the low impedance jack on any tape deck, PA system or mixer that has 1/4" (6.35 mm) plugs. Position the in-line power supply so that it will not be tripped over and damaged. Use the in-line power supply switch as follows: OFF: To turn the PZM off completely STAND BY: To turn off the PZM temporarily during use. If you use the OFF position for this purpose, there will be a "pop" when you turn the PZM on again. ON: To turn the PZM ON for normal use. Note: When using the PZM outdoors, the windscreen will reduce wind noise. (SP/all-04/20/95)
