Multi-Channel Dual Antenna Microphone Receiver (320-1234) Installation Faxback Doc. # 18437 INSTALLING THE SECOND ANTENNA The true diversity system requires two antennas for proper operation. You can connect the supplied second antenna directly to the BNC connector on the top of the receiver. The antennas should be fully extended, and oriented as shown for the best performance. Or you can connect an RG58 cable to the BNC connector and the antenna, and locate the second antenna farther away from the receiver. In some locations, this provides better performance. CONNECTING THE RECEIVER AUDIO OUTPUTS To connect the receiver's LINE output to the LINE input of an amplifier, tape recorder, or mixing board, use a shielded cable with phono-plugs on both ends. To connect the receiver's MICROPHONE output to the MICROPHONE input of an amplifier, tape recorder, or mixing board, use a shielded cable with a 1/4 inch phone plug on one end and the appropriate connector (phone plug or XLR connector) on the other end. Follow the instructions in the owner's manuals for your other audio equipment to make all other connections. SETTING THE RECEIVER CHANNEL You can set your receiver to one of eight channels. This lets you use more than one wireless microphone system in the same audio system. Follow these steps to set the channel. 1. Follow the instructions in the microphone's owner's manual to set the microphone's channel. 2. Set the CHANNEL selector switch on the receiver to the same channel as the microphone. NOTE: When using more than one wireless system with the same audio system, do not set any two wireless systems to adjacent channels. For example, if one wireless system is set to Channel C, do not set any other wireless system to Channel B or D. Two wireless systems set to adjacent channels will interfere with each other. If you intend to use more than two wireless microphone systems in the same location, follow these recommended channel combinations for the best performance. Using the STANDBY setting minimizes interference when you use more than one wireless system. POWERING THE RECEIVER You operate the receiver from the supplied 12-volt DC power adapter. CAUTION: Use only the supplied adapter. If you lose or damage this adapter, order a replacement from your local Radio Shack store. Other adapters could damage the receiver. Be sure the receiver's POWER button is out (OFF), then connect the adapter as shown. (JC 11/8/95)
