Your Optimus System 729 Mini System is a versatile, high-quality sound
system that combines a CD player, AM/FM stereo tuner, dual-cassette deck,
and even a sing-along microphone mixing feature in one compact system.

You can power the System 729 either with the supplied AC power cord or
with batteries (not supplied).  The supplied speakers let you immediately
begin using your system.

CD PLAYER

                   Track Programming - lets you program up to 16 tracks
                                       to play in any order you choose.

                      Audible Search - lets you rapidly play a CD in
                                       either direction to locate a
                                       desired section of a track.

               Direct Selection Play - lets you select any track from the
                                       loaded CD.

                         Repeat Play - automatically repeats a single
                                       track, all tracks on a CD, or a
                                       programmed sequence.

                        Shuffle Play - randomly selects and plays tracks
                                       from the loaded CD.

                     Digital Display - shows you the current track number
                                       of the loaded CD, and the total
                                       or elapsed time of the current
                                       track.

                          Intro Scan - scans and plays the first 9 seconds
                                       of each track, so you can easily
                                       find the desired track.

                3-Inch CD Compatible - lets you use 5-inch or 3-inch CDs.


DUAL CASSETTE DECK

             High-Speed Tape Dubbing - lets you easily copy tapes with the
                                       touch of a few buttons.

                    Consecutive Play - plays two tapes, one after the
                                       other.

                      Automatic Stop - automatically stops the tape when
                                       it reaches the end.

                          Soft Eject - gently opens the cassette compart-
                                       ment door when you press STOP/EJECT
                                       so the cassette does not pop out.

             Automatic Level Control - automatically adjusts the recording
                                       level.

           Multiple Recording Source - lets you record from the tuner, CD
                                       player, or one of these sources
                                       combined with your voice.

        Synchronous Recording System - simplifies recording from the CD
                                       player to a cassette tape.


OTHER FEATURES

                   Microphone Mixing - lets you sing along with your
                                       favorite recordings, songs on the
                                       radio, or karaoke audio tapes (not
                                       supplied).

           Bass, Treble, and Balance - let you customize the sound to suit
                             Controls  your personal preference.

For your records, we recommend you record the serial number of the system
in the space below.  The serial number is on the system's back panel.

Most material on compact discs and pre-recorded tapes is copyrighted.  It
is a violation of copyright laws to duplicate copyrighted material.
Duplication of copyrighted material could result in fines and/or
imprisonment.

The CD player is this music system is made and tested to meet exacting
safety standards.  It meets UL and FCC requirements and complies with
safety performance standards of the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services.

WARNINGS:  The CD player employs a laser light beam.  Do not remove the
           cover or attempt to service this device, due to possible eye
           injury.

           The use of controls, adjustments, or procedures other that those
           specified herein might result in hazardous radiation exposure.

THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KNOW

This equipment complies with the limits for a Class B digital device as
specified in Part 15 of FCC Rules.  These limits provide reasonable
protection against radio and TV interference in a residential area.
However, your equipment might cause radio or TV interference even when it
is operating properly.  To eliminate interference, you can try one or more
of the following corrective measures.

  Reorient or relocate the radio or TV's receiving antenna.

  Increase the distance between the System 729 and the radio or TV.

  Connect your System 729 to an AC outlet that is on a different electrical
  circuit from either the radio or TV's receiver.

Consult your local Radio Shack store if the problem still exists.  If you
cannot eliminate the interference, the FCC requires that you stop using
your system 729.

You must use shielded interface cables with this equipment.
