Connect headphones or speakers to the radio/cassette player. 2. Set RADIO OFF/TAPE/FM ST/AM to FM ST or AM. 3. Rotate TUNING to select the desired radio station. Notes: For the best FM reception, fully uncoil the headphones' (or speakers') cord. The AM antenna is built-in. Move the SCP-59 to improve AM reception. 4. Adjust VOLUME to a comfortable listening level. 5. Set BASS BOOST to the ON position for an enhanced bass sound or to OFF for normal bass sound. 6. To turn off the radio, set RADIO OFF/TAPE/FM ST/AM to RADIO OFF/TAPE. CASSETTE PLAYER OPERATION Warning: To protect your hearing, set VOLUME to its lowest setting before you listen to a tape. 1. Take up any slack in the cassette tape by turning the hub with a pencil. If you do not remove the excess slack, the tape might become tangled in the play mechanism. Avoid touching the tape. 2. Pull up the cassette compartment cover and open the door. 3. Insert a cassette tape into the cassette compartment with the desired side facing you, the full reel toward the right, and the open end facing up. 4. Close the door and the cover. 5. Set RADIO OFF/TAPE/FM ST/AM to RADIO OFF/TAPE. 6. Press PLAY to start play. 7. Adjust VOLUME to a comfortable listening level. 8. Set BASS BOOST to the ON position for an enhanced bass sound or to OFF for normal bass sound. 9. Press STOP to stop play. 10. Pull up the cassette compartment cover, open the door, and remove the cassette tape. Notes: The radio/cassette player automatically stops when the tape reaches the end of that side during playback. To advance the tape quickly, press F.FWD. The button locks down, and the tape movement continues until you press STOP. (br/all-02/27/95)
