For the best FM reception, fully uncoil the headphones' or speaker's cord. If FM stereo reception is poor or noisy, set RADIO/TAPE to RADIO (MONO). The sound is not in stereo, but the FM reception should improve. You can change the tuning increment by setting 10KHz/9KHz on the back of the cassette compartment door. 5. Set E-BASS IN/OUT to IN for extra bass effect, or to OUT to leave the bass sound unchanged. 6. To turn off the radio, set RADIO/TAPE to TAPE. Then you can quickly tune to the stored station by pressing a memory button, or +5 and a memory button. Follow these steps to store stations into memory. 1. Set RADIO/TAPE to RADIO (STEREO) or RADIO (MONO). 2. Press AM/FM until the display shows the desired band (AM or FM). 3. Use any tuning method to tune to the first station you want to store. LOCKING THE TUNER You can lock the SCP-65's tuner to prevent accidentally changing the station you are listening to.
