Your Radio Shack X-K-Ka Superwide Radar/Front and Rear Laser Detector can 
alert you to all known police traffic radar and laser systems.  It receives
all X-, K-, and Ka-band traffic radar signals and also detects both the 
instant-on and laser systems many police departments now use to measure 
vehicle speed.  The laser sensor detects traffic laser signals coming from 
in front of and behind your vehicle. 

To provide the maximum flexibility in mounting and the best laser
detection, the laser sensor is removable so you can mount it high on the
windshield for optimum performance.  

Your detector has FAST (False Alert Suppression Technology) circuitry that
helps prevent false alarms caused by signals from other radar detectors,
without reducing your detector's sensitivity to traffic radar signals.  

NOTE:  Some areas have laws regulating the use of radar detectors.  Check 
       with your local law enforcement agency about the laws in your area.

Your detector has many useful features.

X-, K-, Ka-band, and Laser - warns you when it detects signals from
Signal Detection             traffic radar or laser devices.  Different
                             tones sound and different indicators light to
                             let you know the type of signal received. 

    Three-LED Signal Meter - shows you the relative strength of traffic
                             radar signals and alerts you to the presence
                             of laser signals so you can take the 
                             appropriate action.

        City/Highway Modes - let you reduce the detector's sensitivity to
                             weak X-, K-, and Ka-band signals without
                             affecting the detector's sensitivity to laser
                             signals while you are in the city.

         Dark/Mute Options - let you turn most of the detector's indicators
                             or tones on or off to suit your driving
                             preferences.

PHYSICAL FEATURES

DETECTOR

         OFF / VOLUME - turns the detector on and off and lets you adjust
                        the volume.

  P (Power) Indicator - lights when you connect the detector to power and 
                        turn it on. 

Signal Strength Meter - three high-itensity light in sequence as the 
                        radar signal strength increases, or all flash when
                        a traffic laser signal is detected.

          X Indicator - lights when the detector detects an X-band radar
                        signal.

          K Indicator - lights when the detector detects a K-band radar
                        signal.

        Ka Indication - both the X and K indicators light when the detector
                        detects a Ka-band radar signal.

          M Indicator - lights when you press MUTE.

          C Indicator - lights when the detector is in the city mode.

          DARK Button - turns off all your detector's indicators except the
                        P indicator.

          MUTE Button - silences the normal alert sound.

      CITY/HWY Button - switches between the city and highway modes.

           Power Jack - the power cable plugs in here.

           LASER Jack - the laser sensor or its cable plugs in here.

LASER SENSOR

Laser Detection Lenses - receive incoming laser signals from in front of 
and behind your vehicle.

Laser Sensor Extension Cable - lets you mount the laser sensor where it has 
the best view of the road.
