4-Inch Flush-Mount Speakers For Automobiles & Other Vehicles (120-1704) Installation Faxback Doc. # 33328 1. Select a convenient spot on the door panel to install speaker. Loosen door trim panel and check behind panel to be sure the speaker will not interfere with structural members or window mechanism. (1-3/4" (4.5 cm) in depth is needed for installation.) 2. Mark location of four mounting holes and speaker opening at the selected spot. 3. Drill 1/8" (3.5 mm) mounting holes. Cut the panel using a sharp knife or razor blade. 4. Check front of door for available holes to route speaker leads through. If no holes are available, drill a 1/4" - 3/8" (6.5 - 9.5mm) hole close to the door hinge. 5. Route speaker leads into door panel. Leave a minimum amount of slack outside of door and tape the speaker leads to the door hinge. 6. Run speaker lead from sound system to speaker location. 7. Attach speaker to door with self tapping screws. (Install speed clips at mounting holes when speaker is being mounted to a non-metal panel.) 8. Place grille over speaker and snap on. (SP/EB 6/7/96)
