To reduce interference that sometimes occurs when you tune to a strong local station, press LOC. LOC appears in the display. 6. Push RADIO again to turn off the stereo. Notes: ST appears on the display when you tune the stereo to an FM stereo signal. Each time you press AM/FM, the radio automatically tunes to the last station selected in that band. You can also use memory tuning to select a station. See "Memory Tuning." MEMORY TUNING You can store up to 12 AM and 18 FM stations in memory. Your radio has two AM memory groups (A1 and A2) and three FM groups (F1, F2, and F3). You can store up to six stations in each memory group. You can let the stereo search for the next six stations in a band and automatically enter these into a memory group, or you can manually enter stations into a memory group. You can then select each stored station by selecting the memory group and pressing the correct memory location button, or you can scan all of the stations in a memory group. You can then select each stored station by selecting the memory group and pressing the correct memory location button, or you can scan all of the stations in a memory group. Automatically Storing Stations Follow these steps to let the stereo automatically store stations in memory. 1. Press RADIO to turn on the radio. 2. Press AM/FM to select the band and memory group. For example, select A1 to store the first group of AM stations. 3. To select only strong local stations, press LOC so that LOC appears on the display. 4. Use any tuning method to tune to the first station you want to store into memory. Then press \/ TUNE to tune to just below that station. 5. Press and hold down AMS for 3 seconds. The system scans the selected band, and automatically stores the next six stations into the selected memory group. CH, the memory location number, and the station's frequency appear on the display for each stored station. After the stereo stores all six stations into memory, it scans all six stored stations. The channel number flashes and the stereo tunes to each station for 5 seconds. Press AMS to stop scanning when the stereo pauses on the station you want to listen to. 6. Repeat Steps 1-5 to store more stations in other memory groups. Manually Storing Stations To manually store a station into memory, do the following. 1. Press RADIO to turn on the RADIO. 2. Press AM/FM to select the band and memory group. For example, select A1 to store the first group of AM stations. 3. Use any tuning method to tune to the station you want to store into memory. 4. Press and hold down the desired memory location number until the audio momentarily mutes. CH, the memory location number, and the station's frequency appear on the display for each stored station. Selecting Stored Stations To select a stored station, press AM/FM to select the correct band. Then press the desired memory location button. Scanning Stored Stations Press AMS to scan the stored stations in the currently selected memory group. The radio scans all stored stations in the selected memory group, pausing for 5 seconds at each station. When the radio pauses at a station you want to listen to, press AMS again.
