Compaq Presario 71XX, 95XX (12-10623/25/27/63, 12-81065) Compaq Phone Center Faxback Doc. # 31594 Steps to use touch tones instead of SpeechMail: 1) Go to Start/Programs/Media Pilot/SpeechMail Options 2) Remove Check mark from "Enable SpeechMail" 3) Windows must be restarted (it will force you) Now you must create a new greeting and add mailboxes: 4) Go to Start/Programs/Media Pilot/Phone Center 5) Select "Messages" 6) Select "Add Mailbox" 7) Enter the name, input PIN #, and record the message 8) Repeat steps 6 and 7 as needed to add mailboxes 9) Select 0 :GENERAL 10) Select "Record Message" This will allow you to change the greeting to add your Press button x for whoever message. The system is now ready to use keypad entry from your telephone instead of voice recognition. To get your messages remotely,, press * and mailbox # and 4 digit pin #. The computer will tell you what to do. The following is an excerpt from the Media Pilot Phone Center online help: 1. From a touch tone telephone, call the telephone number to which the Phone Center is connected. 2. When you hear the GENERAL mailbox greeting, press the * button on your telephone, then immediately press the number of the mailbox and its four-digit PIN on your telephone keypad. Example: If you want to retrieve the messages in mailbox 3 and your PIN is 1234, when you hear the greeting, press *31234 to hear the messages. 3. If the PIN is incorrect, you will hear the message, ôPassword incorrect. Access denied.ö After you hear this message, the greeting will replay and you can try again. (Repeat Step 2.) 4. After you enter the correct PIN, you will hear a list of options. Press the key for the option you want. Press To... *1 Delete the message. *2 Listen to the same message again. *3 Listen to the first message, or listen to the next message. *4 Record a new greeting. *5 Listen to the greeting. *7 Save the new greeting. *8 Review the new greeting. *9 Discard the greeting just recorded.
