Follow the instructions below to restore your software.

1.  Insert the diskette found in your QuickRestore kit into the diskeete
    drive.

2.  Insert the compact disc (CD) found in your QuickRestore kit into the
    CD_ROM drive.

3.  Exit all applications including Windows then restart your computer.  An
    important notice appears.

4.  Read the notice, then click on OK.  A welcome screen appears.

5.  After you read the information, click on Continue to proceed or Exit to
    quit.  A model verification screen appears.

6.  If QuickRestore has correctly identified your computer, click on
    Continue to proceed.  A warning screen appears.

NOTE:  If QuickRestore has incorrectly identified your computer, click on
       Serial No. and follow the instructions on the screen.

7.  Read the warning and make sure you to restore your computer software
    back to its original preinstalled condition.  Click on Yes to proceed
    or No to exit QuickRestore.

8.  When QuickRestore finishes, remove both the diskeet and CD from the
    computer.  Click on OK if you want to complete the restoration process
    by going through the initial startup process.  Disregard the OK button
    and turn off the computer if you want to complete the initial startup
    at a later time.


Note on Software Update Notice

The software originally preinstalled on your hard disk may not identically
match the software restored using QuickRestore.  To verify that the latest
software updates have been included, Compaq has created QuickRestore Update
Information Control (QUICK) document.

To order the QUICK document, call PaqFax at 1-800-345-1518 and select
option 1.  The QUICK document is listed as document 6502.
