AST Advantage 6xx/8xx Caller ID Faxback Doc. # 34571 From the "System Properties" dialog box, select the "Line Options" tab and then click "Change". This set of options appears when you select the "Caller ID" tab from the "Line Options" Dialog box. Use these options to control how Multimedia Connect uses caller ID information. (You must have Caller ID Service, provided by your local telephone company to use this feature.) 1)Enable Caller ID** Select this option if you want Multimedia Connect to display caller ID information. 2)Caller ID Configuration** Always look-up name- Select if you want Multimedia Connect to always look up a name in the phone book based on the caller ID phone information. Look-up name when not provided- Select if you want Multimedia Connect to look up a name only when the caller ID does not provide one. Never look-up name- Select if you do not want Multimedia Connect to look up names based on the caller ID phone number. ****NOTE**** There is the possibility that when a customer uses a Caller ID box on the same wall jack that the computer's modem is on then there will be garbage on the Caller ID display. This can be resolved by moving the Caller ID "box" or Caller ID capable phone to another phone jack in their home. ****This does not mean that Caller ID will not work with the ASTs; only that you can not have the ID box or phone itself near the modem.
