The Hyperscan/Priority button works as follows:

    When the Priority button is pushed, you can select a priority channel
    that will be scanned every two seconds.  The Hyperscan feature is
    turned off.  If you push the Priority button again, the Hyperscan
    feature is enabled, which will allow scanning of up to 50 channels per
    second.  The Priority feature is off.  When the scanner is in the
    Priority mode, the PRI will appear.  In the Hyperscan mode the PRI
    will disappear.

    This unit will only hyperscan in the 5 kHz step mode; if the hyperscan
    button is pressed when the unit is in 12.5 kHz step mode, it will beep
    to indicate that hyperscan is not possible.
