TESTING - Electrical 6.1 Capacity Test:............Capacity Test shall be carried out under the following charging condition (1) and discharging condition (2). CHARGING CONDITION:...........At the ambient temperature 20 +/- 2 degreesC, the cell is charged with current of 85.0 mA for 15 hours. DISCHARGING CONDITION:..........After fully charged, the cell shall be left for 1 hour. And at 20 +/- 2 degreesC, it is discharged continuously with a current of 170.0 mA till the voltage reaches 1.0 V. STANDARD:.............Within 3 charge-discharge cycles, the cell shall have more than 95% capacity of the Nominal Capacity. HIGH RATE DISCHARGE TEST High rate discharge test shall be carried out under the following charging condition (1), and discharging condition (2). CHARGING CONDITION:..........At the ambient temperature 20 +/- 2 degrees C, the cell is charged with a current of 85.0 mA for 15 hours. DISCHARGING CONDITION:..........After fully charged, the cell shall be left for 1 hour. And at 20 +/- 2 degreesC, it is discharged continuously with a current of 850 mA till the voltage reaches 1.0 V. STANDARD:...................Within 3 charge-discharge cycles, the discharge time shall be more than 48 minutes. TEST FOR OVERCHARGING Test for overcharging shall be performed after the cell is discharged under the above testing condition. The cell shall be charge continuously at 85mA without damage. CHARGE RETENTION Charge retention test shall be carried out under the following charging condition (1), stored in accordance with the storage condition (2), and discharge by condition (3). CHARGING CONDITION:...........At the ambient temperature 20 +/- 2 degreesC, the cell is charged with current of 85.0mA for 15 hours. HOLDING CONDITION:............At the ambient temperature 20 +/- 2 degreesC. Store the cell for 28 days. DISCHARGE CONDITION:........After storing the cell, discharged continuously with current of 170.0 mA till the voltage reaches 1.0 V. STANDARD:............Not less than 60% nominal capacity shall be recovered. LIFE TEST Life test shall be executed under the following conditions and is defined as the number of charge-discharge cycles tested until the cell capacity drops down to 60% Nominal capacity. Test specimen:...............A cell which was recharged under the condition of 6.1 (1) after the capacity test. (1) At 20 +/- 2 degreesC, the cell shall be discharged with a current 212.0 mA for 2 hours, and then shall be charged with a current 106.0 mA for 6 hours. (2) At every approx. 30 cycles in process for Life Test the cell, which finished the previous cycle, shall be charged and discharged under the conditions 6.1. The capacity shall be checked by the method in 6.1 After the above capacity checking, the cell shall be charged under the condition 6.1 (1). And the Life Test shall be continued. (3) When the capacity, which was checked by the condition 6.1 (2), decreases to less than 60% of Nominal Capacity, Life Test shall be considered finished. (4) The numbers of capacity test made by the condition 6.1 shall be added to the Life Cycles. (5) Standard:...................The life shall be more than 500 cycles. 7. Non-Electrical - Test 7.1 VIBRATION RESISTANCE TEST Meets MIL STD 810C 7.2 IMPACT RESISTANCE TEST Meets MIL STD 810C 8. PRECAUTION The cells shall be delivered in discharged condition. Before testing or using, the cell shall be correctly charged in accordance with this specifications. (1) Avoid throwing cells into fire or attempting to disassemble them. (2) Avoid short circuiting the cells. (3) Avoid direct soldering to cells. (4) Observe correct polarity when connecting. (5) Do not charge with more than our specified current. (6) Use cells only within the specified working temperature range. (0 to 45 degreesC) (7) Store cells in dry and cool place. (/all-02/15/96)
