INSTALLING/REPLACING THE BATTERY

You need a 9-Volt battery to power the tuner.  We recommend an alkaline 
battery, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-553.

Follow these steps to install the battery.

1.  Set the function selector to OFF.

2.  Open the battery compartment by pushing the cover in the direction
    of the arrow.

3.  Remove and discard the old battery (if necessary).

4.  Connect the battery to the tuner's connector and place the battery in
    the compartment.  Be sure the tuner's connector snaps into place on
    the battery.

5.  Replace the cover.

CHECKING THE BATTERY'S CONDITION

To make sure that the tuner's meter reading is reliable, always check the
battery's condition before tuning a guitar. 

Set the function selector to Battery.

If the needle swings into the red BAT. range on the meter, the battery
is good and the meter reading is reliable.

If the needle stays in a lower range, the meter reading is not reliable.
Replace the battery.
