Guitar Tuner (630-0670) Operation Faxback Doc. # 31315 Tuning Your Guitar The tuner receives your guitar's pitch and compares it to a precise reference pitch generated by the tuner's internal quartz crystal oscillator. The tuner then displays the result on the large, easy-to-see meter so you can tell whether your guitar's pitch is above or below the reference pitch. Your tuner uses the following frequencies for each note: String Frequency 6E 82.41 Hz 5A 110.00 Hz 4D 146.83 Hz 3G 196.00 Hz 2B 246.94 Hz 1E 329.63 Hz Follow these steps to tune your guitar: 1. Set the function selector to TUNE. 2. Set the string selector to the desired reference pitch. 3. Play the corresponding string and read the meter. For example, if you selected 6E, then play the low E string. If the meter shows -. the guitar string's pitch is flat. If the meter shows +, guitar string's pitch is sharp. 4. Adjust the tuning peg and play the string again. 5. After the string is tuned to yuor satisfaction, repeat steps 2 through 4 for the remaining string selector positions until the guitar is completely tuned. After finishing the 1E string, repeat the process to make sure the other strings did not lose their tuning pitch due to the change in string tension against the guitar's neck. (IR-03/12/96)
