Auto-Range DVM (220-0174) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 33761 Q: The unit is reading a 22 Ohm at 23 Ohms, minus the lead resistance. A: This unit (along with 220-0175, 220-0181) use an ASIC chip which has been found to have an occasional bug related to the resistance mode. When measuring resistance in the low Ohms scale, check for zero by shorting the leads. If the reading is high (typically, 16 Ohms), then the unit's power will need to be either cycled OR use the "relative" mode to clear this behavior. It is caused by the ASIC's internal circuitry.
