Technophone (170-1066) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 15103 If you believe your telephone has developed a fault, review the following procedures before referring to an authorized Service Agent. Telephone will no switch on: Is the battery installed properly? If using the Desktop Charging Stand, are the contacts clean? Does the battery have sufficient charge? Telephone switches on but no service: Is "NO SVC" displayed? If so, you are probably outside the cellular service area. Is there a good signal? Is the antenna connected properly? Telephone in service, but will not make calls: Is the telephone registered on the system? Have you dialed a valid number? Do not attempt to open the case, as this will invalidate your warranty. Refer any problems to an authorized representative or Service Agent. USEFUL TIPS As with any cellular telephone, you will experience difficulties if you try to make or receive calls in areas of low signal strength. Do not attempt to make calls when outside the cellular coverage area, or when in underground locations, metal structures or elevators. Before making a call, observe the signal strength indicator to ensure that the strength is adequate. If necessary, move to another position (where a stronger signal can be obtained). It will not be possible to establish a call when NO SVC is displayed. (ALL-05/03/95)
