Technophone (170-1066) Accessories Faxback Doc. # 15106 TRAVEL CHARGER (ACH-3) Lightweight AC travel charger which can be used with all three battery types. Charging time is approximately 4/8/11 hours for battery types BTH-2L/S/H respectively. FAST TRAVEL CHARGER (ACH-4) Lightweight, small-sized, AC fast charger which can be used with all three battery types, and in connection with the Desk Top Charging Stand (DCH-1). Charging time is approximately 30/60/80 minutes for battery types BTH-2L/S/H respectively. AC POWER SUPPLY (ACS-3) Designed to power the Desk Top Charging Stand (DCH-1) from a suitable AC supply. NOTE: The AC Power Supply (ACS-3) cannot be connected directly to the telephone. DESKTOP CHARGING STAND (DCH-1) Makes recharging easier, and allows you to charge, both, the battery fitted to the telephone and a spare battery. When both a telephone and a spare battery are fitted, the telephone battery is charged first, then the spare battery. Normally used in conjunction with the AC Power Supply (ACS-3) or a charger (eg, Fast Travel Charger (ACH-4). To use the Charging Stand: Connect the AC Power Supply (ACS-3) or the Fast Travel Charger (ACH-4) to the Charging Stand, then connect the AC Power Supply or Charger to a suitable AC supply. Place the telephone (and a spare battery, if appropriate) in the Charging Stand. The charging stand is equipped with a deep discharge switch for the spare battery. Press the switch to start discharging the spare battery. After discharge, the spare battery will automatically begin to charge. This way you will obtain maximum battery life. Charging Status Front Indicator- Telephone Charger Stand Display Status Red Flashing "C" Telephone battery charging in progress. Green Steady "C" Telephone battery fully charged. Green Flashing "C" Telephone battery charging temporarily disabled (eg, battery to hot or too cold). Rear Indicator Charger Stand Status Red Spare battery charging Green Spare battery fully charged. CIGARETTE-LIGHTER CHARGER (LCH-2) Charges the telephone battery from a vehicle battery. While charging is in progress, the telephone may be used, even if the battery is flat. Charging time is approximately 30/60/80 minutes for battery types BTH-2L/S/H respectively. The Charger may be used in conjunction with the Desktop Charging Stand (DCH-1). The input voltage range is 9 to 36V DC, negative ground. Charging Status Indicator on Telephone Charger Display Status Red Flashing "C" Telephone battery charging in progress. Green Steady "C" Telephone battery fully charged. Green Flashing "C" Telephone battery charging temporarily disabled (eg, battery too hot or too cold). CAR MOUNTING BRACKET (MBH-2) Hold telephone in place in a vehicle (eg, during charging). To fit telephone: Slide telephone into bracket, and tilt it back to lock firmly in place. Telephone can be removed from bracket, with a single one-handed action by tilting the telephone forward. BATTERIES (BTH-2L/S/H) Three types of batteries: Standard 380 mAh (BTH-2L): Small size and slim design provides maximum comfort and portability. Nickel-Cadmium (NiCad) type. Extended 800 mAh (BTH-2H): Extended operating time (useful if you do and not have easy access to fast charging). Extended 1100 mAh (BTH-2H): Only slightly thicker than the standard battery, retaining a comfortable "feel". BTH-2S is a Nickel-Cadmium (NiCad) type, and BTH-2H is a Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) type. Typical Operating Times (for new batteries): Battery Type Talk Time Standby Time Standard 380 mAh (BTH-2L) 45 min 10 h Extended 800 mAh (BTH-2S) 100 min 22 h Extended 1100 mAh (BTH-2H) 140 min 30 h Standby time will be reduced by approximately 1 hour for every 9 minutes of talk time. NOTES: (1) In common with all NiCad/NiMH batteries, the performance will reduce with substantial use, or if used or stored in very high or low temperatures. (2) The Extended Battery BTH-2H is a NiMH type. In common with all batteries of this type, it has a faster self-discharge rate than NiCad types; NiMH batteries can lose approx. 50% of their charge in 2 or 3 days. It is therefore advisable to charge Extended Battery BTH-2H just prior to use. (3) You will help prolong battery life by allowing the battery discharge fully before recharging, and then, when recharging, allowing the battery to charge fully before use. WARNINGS: Do not dispose of a battery in a fire. Do not "short circuit" a battery. (ALL-05/03/95)
