Mobile Adapter/Charger (170-0616) Operation Faxback Doc. # 15604 To connect the charger, plug the coiled cord's power tip into the jack on the bottom of the phone. Then, plug the charger's cigarette-lighter plug into your vehicle's cigarette-lighter socket. Do not recharge a battery if the ambient temperature is too high (above 95 degrees F) or too low (below 41 degrees F). For best results, recharge the battery at a normal room temperature. A fully discharged battery takes about 1 1/2 hours to charge. CAUTION: Exposing a rechargeable battery to excessive heat will shorten the battery's life. The charger's two-color indicator shows you the charging status in the following ways: If the battery is too hot to charge, the charger's indicator lights green. The phone waits for the battery to return to a normal temperature before it begins charging. The indicator also lights green when the battery is trickle-charging. If the charger is not properly connected to your vehicle's cigarette- lighter socket, the indicator does not light. The indicator also does not light if the charger's fuse is blown. See "Replacing the Fuse." During quick-charging, the indicator lights red. REPLACING THE FUSE If the indicator does not light, the fuse in the cigarette-lighter charger or a fuse in the vehicle's fuse box might be blown. To remove the charger's old fuse, unscrew the tip on the end of the cigarette-lighter plug. Replace the fuse with the supplied spare fuse or an identical 3.15A 125V fuse. (ALL-06/12/95)
