DuoFone 600 Voice Dialing Phone (430-0650) Security Faxback Doc. # 17916 SETTING THE SECURITY LEVEL The phone offers two levels of security protection. Directory Lock prevents anyone from changing or searching your directories. Dial Lock provides additional protection by restricting all outgoing calls except the three "single touch" memory keys The system is protected by a 4-digit security code which must be used to change the security level. Even with the system locked, incoming calls are always received and "single touch" memory keys are never locked. Because the " | "," || ", and" ||| " keys always remain active, be sure emergency numbers are stored before locking your phone. When the phone is not in use, press " ||| " four times to display the message SET SECURITY? 1. Select YES and enter your present 4-digit security code. NOTE: Initially, the code is set at 0000. 2. Select DONE. If the code is incorrect, you cannot change the security level. 3. Choose a level of security protection. Select OFF to unlock the system, allowing use of all features. Delete DIR to prevent any reviews or changes of the directories or"single touch" memory keys. Select ALL to prevent all dialing except of "single touch" memory numbers. NOTE: When either level of security has been set, the window displays the lock symbol. CHANGING THE SECURITY CODE When the phone is not in use, press" ||| " five times to display the message CHANGE CODE? 1. Select YES and enter your present 4-digit security code. NOTE: Initially, the code is set at 0000. 2. Select DONE. If the old code is incorrect, you cannot change to a new code. 3. Choose a new 4-digit security code. 4. Select DONE when the new code is correct. NOTE: Write down your security code in a special place. If you lock the system and forget the code, you must reset the phone and clear all names and numbers. Operating Without Batteries or AC Power If AC power is lost and the batteries are either dead or missing, your phone will still operate. The LCD will display "NO AC POWER." Plug in your AC adapter as soon as possible. If the batteries are missing or completely dead, all memory will be lost. This includes date & time, voice names, speed names, and your dial settings(pulse vs. tone). The phone will set to pulse dialing under this condition. However, you can still temporarily switch to tone dialing by pressing the *or # keys. The following features will not operate without AC power or batteries: hold, mute, voice dialing, directory, call timer, redial. No features except ringing will work when the handset is hung up. The phone will not operate properly is another extension phone on the same line is already in use. (/all-11/08/95)
