Telephone Recording Control (430-0228A) Installation Faxback Doc. # 18311 You can connect the recording control directly to the phone line through a modular jack. If your phone line does not have a modular jack, you must update the wiring. You can convert the wiring yourself using jacks and adapters available at your local Radio Shack store. Or, you can let the phone company update the wiring for you. The phone company will charge you for the installation of the necessary jacks. The phone company will ask you for the USOC number of the jack to be installed. This number is RJ11C. 1. Disconnect you telephone's cord from the wall jack and insert it into the jack on the control. 2. Insert the plug from the control's short modular cord into the wall jack. 3. Insert the control's larger phono-type plug into the cassette recorder's microphone jack. Insert the smaller plug into the recorder's remote jack. CHECKING THE INSTALLATION 1. Prepare your cassette recorder for recording. 2. Move the switch on the control to RECORD. 3. Lift the telephone receiver. Be sure that the tape starts moving. When you replace the receiver, the tape should stop. (CS 11/14/95)
