TAD-25 Telephone Answering System (430-0260) Installation Faxback Doc. # 19208 IMPORTANT: Before connecting your TAD-25, you must notify your local Telephone Company of the Ringer Equivalence number and the Registration number of your unit. You'll find both of these on the label located on the bottom of the case. The TAD-25 uses modular-type connector plugs and jacks (the same ones required for all new telephone equipment). It can be used with both rotary dial and touch-tone systems. If your telephone uses the older type 4-prong receptacles, Radio Shack sells the modular-to-4-prong adapter that's necessary to make the conversion. If your present telephones are wired directly to the wall, you'll need to have your wiring updated by the Telephone Company. NOTE: Your local Telephone Company is authorized to charge you for the installation of such jacks. They may ask for the U.S.O.C. code number for the connection. This number is RJ11W. CHOOSING A LOCATION Place your TAD-25 in a location that's convenient to both a telephone jack and a 120-volt AC power outlet. It should be placed on a flat, solid surface. Allow at least 1" (3cm) in back and 4" (10cm) above the TAD-25 for proper ventilation. To install the TAD-25, simply plug the mini-modular plug into the telephone jack and plug the line-cord into AC power.
