ADJUSTING THE AMPLIFIED HANDSET'S VOLUME Roll the amplified handset's volume control up to make the sound you hear through the handset louder. Roll it down to make it quieter. USING REDIAL Each time you dial a number, the telephone stores that number in a temporary memory. If you want to call the last number dialed, lift the handset and press REDIAL. NOTE: If you do not return the handset to the cradle, the phone hangs up and then redials automatically after a short time. The redial memory holds up to 32 digits, so it can store long-distance as well local numbers. USING TONE SERVICES ON A PULSE LINE Some special services, such as bank-by-phone, require tone signals. If you have pulse service, you can still use these special tone services by following these steps: 1. Be sure TONE/PULSE is set to PULSE. 2. Call the service. 3. When the service answers, set TONE/PULSE to TONE. 4. Follow the normal procedures for the service you are using. Any additional numbers dialed are sent as tone signals. 5. When you complete the call, set TONE/PULSE back to PULSE and hang up. To access special services using a pulse line: 1. Be sure TONE/PULSE is set to PULSE. Then, dial the number of the special service. 2. When the service answers with a second dial tone, press *. Any additional numbers dialed will now produce tone signals. NOTE: After hanging up, all numbers dialed will be pulse signals again. 3. Follow the special service's dialing procedure. Using Redial for Tone Services on a Pulse Line To redial a number that includes a change from PULSE to TONE, leave TONE/ PULSE set to PULSE and press REDIAL. The phone stops redialing at the mode change. Simply press REDIAL a second time to dial the remaining numbers.
