SPP-X50 / 30 Sony Cordless Telephone (430-8003) Memory Faxback Doc. # 33564 STORING MEMORY DIALING NUMBERS You can store the numbers you frequently call into the memory so that you can dial a number with the touch of one (one-touch dialing) or two (speed dialing) buttons. While storing a number, you cannot receive calls. 1. Press VOL/PGM. The "P P P P P P" message flashes on the display. 2. For one-touch dialing: Press one of the three one-touch dialing buttons (A-C). You hear a confirmation beep and the dialing keys light. NOTE: If a phone number has been stored in the button, the number will be shown on the display. For speed dialing: 1. Press RECALL. The dialing keys light. 2. Press a dialing key between 0 and 9. You hear a confirmation beep. 3. Dial the phone number you wish to store. The name of the memory dialing button and the number stored appear on the display. NOTE: Do not enter a memory dialing number that exceeds 16 digits (the tone and pause digits are each counted as one digit); otherwise you will hear five short error beeps and you must start over again. 4. Press VOL/PGM. You hear a confirmation beep, and the message on the display will disappear in a few seconds. Confirming the memory dialing numbers For one-touch dialing: Press the desired one-touch dialing button (A-C). The number stored in the button appears on the display. For speed dialing: 1. Press RECALL. 2. Press the desired speed dialing button (0 to 9). The number stored in the button appears on the display. If you use a private branch exchange (PBX) You need to dial a digit (such as 9) to access an outside line before you dial a phone number. To store the phone number: 1. Enter the outside line access digit. 2. Press REDIAL/PAUSE to enter a pause (to allow the phone time to the access outside line). 3. Enter the phone number you want to store. To change a stored number If you store a new phone number in a one-touch dialing button that already has a number stored in it, the old number will be erased. To keep a directory Use the code table label to write down the names of persons or places whose numbers you have stored in the buttons. Note on power supply The memory dialing numbers are not lost even when power supply to the cordless handset is cut off. MAKING MEMORY DIALING CALLS Once you have stored numbers in the memory dialing buttons, you can make a call with the touch of one (one-touch dialing) or two (speed dialing) buttons. 1. Press TALK (or SPEAKERPHONE). The phone tries to scan for a clear channel (for up to 20 seconds). When it is found, you hear a dial tone. NOTE: If the "OUT OF RANGE" message appears on the display, see Faxback Doc. # 33567. 2. For one-touch dialing: Press the desired one-touch button (A - C). The phone number stored in the button will be dialed. For speed dialing: 1. Press RECALL. 2. Press the desired speed dialing button (0 - 9). The phone number stored in the button will be dialed. NOTE: If you press a memory dialing button that does not have a phone number stored in it, you will hear five short error beeps. (YO/EB 6/11/96)
