Indicator         Status              Indicates that the TAD-440 is:

BATTERY LOW       Steady              The battery is low.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
POWER             Steady              The TAD-440 is turned on and is ready
                                      to operate.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
ANSWER            Steady              The TAD-440 is ready to receive calls
                                      in the answer mode.

                  Fast Flash          The TAD-440 is rewinding the outgoing
                                      message tape.

                                      The TAD is recording a message
                                      performing remote functions, or
                                      playing the outgoing message.

                  Off                 The TAD-440 is not in the answer.

PLAY              Slow Flash          The TAD-440 has received at least
                                      one new incoming message.  (It is
                                      still in the answer mode and ready to
                                      receive calls.)

                  Steady              The TAD-440 is playing back.

MEMO              Slow Flash          The TAD-440 has recorded at least one
                                      memo.

                  Steady              The TAD-440 is recording a memo.

                  Fast Flash          The TAD -440 is recording the time
                                      and date announcement.

TWO-WAY           Slow Flash          The TAD-440 has received at least one
                                      two-way conversation.

                  Steady              The TAD-440 is recording a two-way
                                      conversation.

                  Fast Flash          The TAD-440 is recording the time
