The Radio Shack TAD-274 Telephone Answering System is a combination
telephone and answering system.  The answering system offers the following
special features:

               Time/Day Stamp - announces the time and day each message
                                was recorded.

                         Memo - records a message at the TAD.

            Two-Way Recording - records your phone conversation.

     Remote Control Operation - lets you use a touch-tone phone (or rotary
                                phone and pocket tone dialer) to use
                                answering system functions from a remote
                                location.

   Programmable Security Code - helps prevent unauthorized remote
                                operation.

Call Break-Through (CBT) with - alerts you to an important call when you
Programmable Code               let the TAD answer calls.

                      Monitor - lets you listen from a remote location to
                                the room where the TAD is located.

                          VOX - stops recording when the caller hangs up
                                or after several seconds of silence to
                                help conserve tape space.

Phone features include the following: 

      20-Number Memory - lets you quickly dial important phone numbers.

                Redial - automatically redials the last number dialed.

                 Pause - pauses during redialing or memory dialing for
                         systems that require an access code.

                 Flash - sends an electronic switchhook signal for
                         specialized telephone services, such as call
                         waiting.

   Hold with Indicator - lets you put a call on hold.

               Privacy - lets you speak to someone in the room with you
                         without being heard by the person on the phone.

 Ringer Volume Control - sets the ringer's volume level or turns it off.

Hearing-Aid Compatible - lets you use the TAD with hearing aids that have
                         a T (telephone) switch.

This TAD has been tested and found to comply with all applicable UL
standards.  For your permanent records, we recommend that you record the
TAD's serial number in the space provided below.  The serial number is
located on the bottom of the TAD.
