Telephone will not turn on:

-Does the vehicle battery, and transportable battery, have sufficient
 charge?

1.  Telephone turns on but no service:

-Is there a good signal?

-Is the antenna connected properly?

2.  Telephone in service, but will not make calls:

-Have you dialed a valid number?

-Is the call restriction function set for memory calls only?

Q:  Cell phone turning off car engine.

A:  Interference with a car is a known problem with cell phones in 
    general.  In order to rectify this interference, reposition the phone,
    try low-power operation, or use an external antenna, and/or unplug
    from the cigarette lighter when transmitting/receiving, as it may be
    feeding back through the DC line.
