12K Ultrathin Electronic Organizer (650-0878) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 16865 CLEARING THE MEMORY Before you operate the EC-378 for the first time, reset it to clear any files that might already be stored in its memory. WARNING! Clear the organizer's memory only when you want to delete all data and re-initialize the EC-378. Keep a copy of all information stored in your electronic organizer in case it is lost, stolen, or physically damaged. It is advisable to avoid X-ray and magnetic fields, such as airport security systems. This can cause scrambling or loss of the organizer's memory. 1. Lift the organizer's front cover. 2. While you press and hold ENTER, press RESET on the back of the unit with a thin, pointed object, such as a straightened paper clip. 3. Release ENTER and RESET. The following display appears. 4. Press RESET again to clear the display. The clock/calendar display appears. VIEWING/SETTING THE CLOCK/CALENDAR To view the clock/calendar display, simply press ALARM TIME. Follow these steps to set the clock/calendar. NOTE: IF you make a mistake while entering information, use the ARROW LEFT and ARROW RIGHT keys and move through the display to correct the information. 1. Press and hold down ENTER until the first month digit flashes on the display. 2. Use the number keys to enter the month, date, year, the current hour, and the minute. NOTE: You must press 0 before entering single-digit numbers. 3. Press A to set the clock to AM or P to set the clock to PM (A or P appears on the display). 4. Repeatedly press (or press and hold) ARROW UP or ARROW DOWN to set the day of the week. 5. If the information is correct, press ENTER to store the date/time you set. If the information is not correct, use the ARROW LEFT and ARROW RIGHT keys to move through the display to correct an entry. NOTES: The seconds begin counting from 0 when you press ENTER. If the information you enter is invalid (for example, you enter 15 for the month), the previous date or time reappears. Repeat Steps 2-5 to enter the correct information. (/all-09/14/95)
