The EC-359's security code feature lets you block unauthorized access to
all of the EC-359's functions (except the calculator and entering a 
schedule reminder).  When you turn on the security code feature, you must
enter a 4-number security code to use most of the EC-359's functions.

SETTING AND USING A SECURITY CODE

You must set a four-digit security code before you can use this feature.

Follow these steps to set a security code.

1.  Press SYSTEM.

2.  Press the solid v twice, then press ENTER.  The square flashes on the
    first blank in the security code.

    CAUTION:  Be sure to use a security code that you can remember.  If you
              enter the wrong security code 99 times in a row, the EC-359
              erases all data you have stored (except the date and time),
              including the security code!

3.  Enter the desired code.

4.  Press the return key (RECALL or RETURN) to store the code.

5.  Wait for the EC-359 to automatically turn off before you begin using 
    the security code feature.

When you select any function (except CALC/CE and entering a schedule 
reminder within SCHEDULE), the display shows a security code entry screen.
You must enter the set security code before you can use any function.

CHANGING THE EXISTING SECURITY CODE

1.  Press SYSTEM, then enter the existing security code.

2.  Press the solid v twice, then press ENTER.  The cursor flashes to the
    right of the security code.

3.  Press the backspace key four times to erase the security code.

4.  Enter the new security code

5.  Press the return key (RECALL or RETURN) to store the new code.

6.  Wait for the EC-359 to automatically turn off (about 3 minutes) before 
    you begin using the new code.

CANCELING THE SECURITY CODE

Follow these steps to remove the security code so you can use the EC-359
without one.

NOTE:  If you cannot remember the security code, you can reset the EC-359 
       to remove it.  Resetting the EC-359 also clears everything you
       stored in the EC-359's memory.  See "Resetting the Memory".

1.  Press SYSTEM, Then enter the current security code.

2.  Press the solid v twice, then press ENTER.  The cursor flashes to the
    right of the security code.

3.  Press the backspace key four times to erase the security code.

4.  Press the return key (RECALL or RETURN) to cancel the security code.
