You can enter 1,501 characters (including spaces) into each note. ENTERING A NOTE 1. Press NOTES. NOTES: If there is no note already stored in memory, NO FILE !! appears. Although TYPE IN THE FIRST WORD OF THE NOTE appears, this applies to recalling notes. Proceed to Step 2. 2. Press ENTER. TYPE IN A NOTE appears, and the cursor flashes over the T in TYPE. 3. Type the note. 4. To save the note and enter a new one, press ENTER. The display briefly shows FILE STORED !!, then TYPE IN A NOTE appears. Repeat Steps 3-4 to enter another note. To save the note and return to the notes opening screen, press NOTES. The display briefly shows FILE STORED !!, then the opening screen appears. RECALLING NOTES The EC-359 stores notes in alphabetic order. To find a specific note, you can scroll through all notes, or search by the first few characters. Scrolling Through All Notes 1. Press NOTES. 2. Press > (FWD or FORWARD) to scroll forward through the notes, or < (REV or REVERSE) to scroll backwards. NOTES: Use the solid ^ or the solid v to scroll through the note one line at a time. Use ^ (LAST) or v (NEXT) to page through the note. Searching Through Notes by the First Few Characters 1. Press NOTES. 2. Enter the first few letters of the note you want to recall. After a few seconds, the EC-359 displays the first matching note. NOTES: If the EC-359 does not find a matching note, NOT FOUND !! appears. Use the solid ^ or the solid v to scroll through the note one line at a time. Use ^ (LAST) or v (NEXT) to page through the note. Use the > (FWD or FORWARD) to scroll forward through notes, or press < (REV or REVERSE) to scroll backwards. EDITING NOTES 1. Recall the note you want to edit. 2. Press the backspace key. A flashing cursor appears to the right of the last character in the first line of the note. 3. Repeatedly press the solid ^ , the solid v, < (REV or REVERSE), the > (FWD or FORWARD), ^ (LAST), or v (NEXT) to move the cursor to the character you want to change. 4. To replace a character, press DEL, then enter the new character. 5. To save the note and return to the notes opening screen, press NOTES. The display briefly shows FILE STORED !!, then the opening screen appears. DELETING NOTES 1. Recall the note you want to delete. 2. Press DEL. DELETE FILE Y/N? appears. 3.
