Talking LCD/Digital Watch (630-5044) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 17803 The Radio Shack Talking LCD/Digital Watch is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for the watch so you can enjoy it for years. Keep the watch dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Use and store the watch only in normal temperature environments. Handle the watch gently and carefully. Don't drop it. Wipe the watch with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the watch. Keep the watch away from dust and dirt. Modifying or tampering with the watch's internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty. If your watch is not performing as it should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. REPLACING THE BATTERY Your watch uses a 3V lithium (CR2016) battery. We recommend Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-160. If the watch slows or the display dims, follow these steps to replace the battery. 1. Use a small screwdriver to remove the four small screws on the back of the watch. NOTE: The screws are extremely small and can be easily misplaced. Be sure you note where you place them. 2. Remove the watch's back. 3. Remove the sound disc and set it aside carefully. 4. Remove one of the screws on the cover of the battery holder and loosen the other one slightly. 5. Slide the battery holder cover out of the way, remove the old battery, and install a new one with the positive side up. CAUTION: Use only a fresh battery of the recommend size and type. Always remove an old or weak battery. WARNING: Immediately discard the old battery. Never allow children to play with the battery. Swallowing a battery could be fatal. 6. Replace the battery holder cover and the sound disc. 7. Secure the watch's back with the small screws. NOTE: The watch resets to 12:00 AM after you replace the battery. (/all-11/13/95)
