LED Talking Alarm Clock (630-0912) Installation Faxback Doc. # 18087 POWER SOURCE Plug the clock's power cord into any standard AC outlet. The display flashes when you plug in the clock or when the power is interrupted and there is no backup battery installed. When you set the time, the display stops flashing. INSTALLING A BACKUP BATTERY You can install a 9-volt alkaline battery for back-up power. We recommend Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-553. The clock runs for about 12 hours during a power failure if a back-up battery is installed. The alarm sounds at the preset time, even if the clock is running only on battery power. NOTE: Be sure to connect the clock to an AC power outlet before you install the battery to prevent unnecessary drain on it. Follow these steps to install the battery. 1. Push the tab and lift off the battery compartment cover. 2. Snap the battery into the terminals and insert it into the compartment. 3. Replace the cover. NOTES: If the display flashes when power is restored after a power failure, replace the battery and reset the clock. If the BATTERY SENTINEL indicator at the lower left corner of the display lights, replace the battery. (PH 11/27/95)
