Illuminator Multi-Function Alarm Watch (630-5083) Operation Faxback Doc. # 18346 OPERATION MODES This watch has five different modes: Clock - displays the hour, minutes, seconds, month, date, and weekday. Alarm - lets you set and display the alarm time in hours and minutes. Chronograph (Stopwatch) - lets you time an event from start to finish and track laps with split times. Timer - lets you set a count down and count up timer with an alarm. Pace Setter - lets you set the watch to beep at a rate you select. NOTE: In each of the five modes, the current time also appears. USING THE LIGHT To view the display in the dark, press and hold down SET. The display lights. SETTING THE TIME AND DATE Follow these steps to set the current time and date. 1. Press MODE until the seconds digits flash and SET appears. 2. Press RESET to reset the seconds digits to 00. NOTE: If the seconds displayed was greater than 29, one minute is added to the minute digits. 3. Press ST./STP to select the digits you want to set. The selected digits flash. NOTE: The setting sequence is seconds, then minutes, hours, month, date and weekday. 4. Press RESET to advance the flashing digits. NOTE: Press and hold RESET to quickly advance the flashing digit. 5. Press MODE when you finish setting the time and date. NOTE: If you do not press a key for 1-2 minutes, the watch stores what you have entered and returns to the date and time display. Selecting the Time Display Format To select the AM/PM or 24-hour format display, press and hold ST./STP for 2 seconds when the date and time display is showing. NOTE: In the AM/PM format, A or P appears to the left of the hour. In the 24-hour format, 24H appears above the hour. USING THE HOURLY CHIME/DAILY ALARM You can set an hourly chime and a daily alarm. The daily alarm sounds for 20 seconds at the set alarm time. The hourly chime sounds at the beginning of each hour. NOTE: To hear what the alarm sounds like, press and hold down RESET, then press ST./STP. Setting the Chime To turn on or off the hourly chime, hold down ST./STP and press RESET while the date and time display is showing. The chime symbol appears. Setting an Alarm Time 1. Press MODE until the currently set alarm time and ALM appear. 2. Press ST./STP. The hour digits flash. 3. Press RESET to advance the hour digits. NOTES: Press and hold RESET to quickly advance the digits. If you are using the 12-hour format, P appears on the display to show PM time and A appears to show AM time. 4. Press ST./STP. The minute digits flash. 5. Press RESET to advance the minute digits. NOTE: If you do not press a key for 1-2 minutes, the watch stores what you have entered and returns to the alarm and time display. 6. Press ST./STP to store the alarm time. 7. Press RESET to turn on the alarm. ALARM SYMBOL appears on the display. NOTE: Press RESET again to turn off the alarm. 8. After setting the alarm time, press MODE to return to the date and time display. When the alarm sounds at the preset time, press any button to silence it. The alarm is still set to sound again the next day. NOTE: To view the preset alarm time, from the date and time display, press and hold RESET. USING THE CHRONOGRAPH (STOPWATCH) The stopwatch counts elapsed time up to 11 hours 59 minutes and 59.99 seconds. (After 1 hour, hundredths of seconds is not displayed.) NOTE: Once 11 hours, 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds is reached, the stopwatch continues counting from 00'00-00. 1. Press MODE until 00'00-00 and CHR (chronograph) appear. 2. Press ST./STP to start the stopwatch. 3. To measure split time, press RESET while the stopwatch is running. SPL (split) appears and the stopwatch time display stops, but the stopwatch continues to run. After you record the split time, press RESET to return to the running time display. NOTE: Split time is the total elapsed time measured from the stopwatch start time. 4. Press ST./STP again to stop the stopwatch. 5. Press RESET to reset the stopwatch. The display changes to 00'00-00. 6. Press MODE to return to the date and time display. SETTING THE TIMER You can set this watch to display elapsed count up time, elapsed countdown time, or repeat count down time. NOTES: The watch sounds 4 beeps when the count down timer reaches 00:00 00 or the count up timer reaches the preset time. When using the count up timer, the watch continues the cycle of counting and sounding the alarm until you stop the timer. While counting up or down, the timer shows the elapsed time from when the timer started. In the count down repeat mode, the timer restarts from the preset time after reaching 00:00 00. Follow these steps to set the timer. 1. Press MODE until 00:00 and TMR appear. 2. Press RESET to select the count up mode (up) count down mode (dn) or count down repeat mode (dn and REP). 3. Press SET to begin setting the timer. The hour digits flash. 4. Press RESET to advance the hours (up to 24). NOTE: Press and hold RESET to quickly advance the digits. 5. Press ST./STP. The minutes digits flash. 6. Press RESET to advance the minutes (up to 59). 7. Press SET to store the preset time. 8. Press ST./STP to start the timer. The watch beeps once, and the timer begins counting in the direction selected. 9. Press ST./STP again to stop the timer. The hours and minutes remaining appear on the display. NOTE: Press ST./STP to restart the timer at the time stopped. 10. Press MODE to return to the date and time display. NOTE: In the count up and count down repeat modes, the timer continues to repeat the count/alarm sequence if you do not press ST./STP to stop it before returning to the date and time display. The watch shows the date and time display, but the alarm continues to sound. Re- enter the Timer mode and press ST./STP to silence the alarm. USING THE PACE SETTER The pace setter lets you set a chime to sound at a rate of 30-160 times per minute. 1. Press MODE until the current beat rate and PACE appear. 2. Press RESET to increase the beat rate in 5-beat increments, up to 160 beats per minute. After 160, the beat rate restarts at 30 beats per minute. 3. Press ST./STP to start or stop the pace setter. 4. Press MODE to exit the Pace Setter mode. NOTE: The pace setter continues to sound if you do not press ST./STP to stop it before exiting the Pace Setter mode. The watch shows the date and time display, but the chime continues to sound. Re-enter the Pace Setter mode and press ST./STP to silence the chime. (EB 11/20/95)
