EC-373 32K Data Directory Electronic Organizer (650-0873) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 19163 Your Radio Shack EC-373 32K Data Directory Electronic Organizer is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for your EC-373 so you can enjoy it for years. Keep your EC-373 dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Liquids might contain minerals that can corrode the electronic circuits. Handle your EC-373 gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage the circuit boards and can cause it to work improperly. Use and store your EC-373 only in normal temperature environments, and avoid sudden temperature changes. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and distort or melt plastic parts. NOTE: At very low temperatures, the display's response time might slow down or it might fail completely. This is only temporary. Your EC-373 returns to normal operation at warmer temperatures. Keep your EC-373 away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts. Wipe your EC-373 with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean your EC-373. Use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type. Always remove old or weak batteries. They can leak chemicals that can destroy electronic circuits. Modifying or tampering with your EC-373's internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate the organizer's warranty. If your EC-373 is not performing as it should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. RESETTING THE DIRECTORY If your EC-373 is exposed to a strong static electrical charge, the directory might lock up or the display might dim. This rarely happens, but it does, reset the EC-373. NOTE: The reset procedure does not delete any information.. It only resets the display. Insert a pointed object (such as a straightened paper clip) into the RESET hole on the bottom of the EC-373, then press and release. CAUTION: Do not press ENTER when resetting your EC-373, or all your stored information will be deleted. If your EC-373 still does not work properly, replace the batteries and press RESET again. NOTE: If your EC-373 is still working improperly after resetting it, try initializing it. Follow the steps in "Initializing the Directory." Make sure you have backup records of your EC-373's records because initializing it deletes all files.
