Jumbo-LED Digital Alarm Clock (630-0796) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 19523 Connecting Power To power the alarm clock, plug the clock's power cord into any standard AC outlet. The display flashes until you set the time (see "Setting the Time", Faxback Doc. # 19522). Installing a Backup Battery For backup power, install a 9-volt battery in your alarm clock. We recommend an alkaline battery, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-553. NOTE: To prevent any unnecessary drain on the battery, make sure you connect the alarm to an AC power outlet before you install the battery. 1. Push the arrow on the battery compartment cover and lift off the cover. 2. Snap a fresh battery into the terminals and place it inside the compartment. CAUTION: Use only a fresh battery of the required size and type. 3. Replace the cover. NOTES: If a backup battery is installed, the display turns off during a power failure. But, the clock continues to run for about 8 hours and the alarm sounds at the preset alarm time. If the backup battery's strength was adequate, the clock's time will still be accurate after AC power is restored. If the display flashes when power is restored after a power failure, replace the battery. When the BATTERY SENTINEL indicator lights, replace the battery. Using the Dimmer Set DIMMER HI/LOW to the desired display brightness. (EB 1/19/96)
