EC-379 Pocket Data Organizer (650-0876) Secret Data Function Faxback Doc. # 19928 SECRET DATA FUNCTION The Secret Data Function allows you to keep confidential information in the Phone Directory, Schedule Alarm, Memo, and To-Do records. A single password protects the confidential information in all four areas. NOTE: You must enter the Secret Data mode before you can store secret records. You cannot transfer records into the Secret Data area. ENTERING SECRET DATA 1. Press PHONE, SCHED, or MEMO/TODO to select the area where you want to store information. Then press SECRET to enter the Secret Data mode. PASSWORD appears. 2. Enter a password up to 8 characters long, then press ENTER. A key appears on the bottom of the display. NOTES: Your password can include any combination of letters, numbers, or symbols. Be sure you can remember your password. If you forget it, you must reset the organizer which clears everything you have stored in the secret data area. 3. Enter information into your chosen area as described in "Entering a Phone Directory Record," "Entering a Schedule Alarm", and "Entering a Memo or To-Do Information." NOTE: After you turn off your organizer (or it automatically turns itself off), the key does not appear on the display when you turn it back on. To re-enter the secret area, you must press SECRET and enter the same password again. RECALLING THE SECRET DATA 1. Press PHONE, SCHED, or MEMO/TODO. 2. Press SECRET. PASSWORD ? appears. 3. Enter the password, then press ENTER. 4. Recall the record you want to see. CHANGING THE SECRET PASSWORD. 1. Press PHONE, SCHED, OR MEMO/TODO. 2. Press SECRET to enter the secret data mode. PASSWORD ? appears. 3. Enter the current password and press ENTER. 4. Press SECRET again. PASSWORD ? appears. 5. Enter the new password and press ENTER to confirm it. (YO/all-03/11/96)
