Each time you press the REMOTE CONTROLLER key Secret Sender switches between the TV and VCR Remote Control Modes. About the Remote Control Mode In order to use the Remote Control Mode to control your television or VCR, you must first register the names of the manufacturers of your equipment. This tells Secret Sender what signals to use for remote control. Registering the Manufacturer Names 1. Press the REMOTE CONTROLLER key to enter the TV Remote Control Mode. If you want to register the manufacturer name for your VCR only, press REMOTE CONTROLLER again to enter the VCR Remote Control Mode. 2. Press the FUNCTION key. "Set Mfr. Name" appears on the display. 3. Press EXE. 4. A list of manufacturers appears on the display of Secret Sender. Use UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW to scroll through the names until the one that matches the manufacturer of your TV (or VCR) is highlighted. 5. After selecting the manufacturer name for your TV (or VCR), press EXE to register it. The selected Remote Control Mode appears on the display. To register the manufacturer name for the other remote control mode, repeat Steps 2-5. You can exit the above procedure at any time without registering anything by pressing the AC/ON key. Notes: Some TV or VCR models may not work properly with Secret Sender, even though they are made by the manufacturer whose name you register. Also, you may find that you can control a TV or VCR using a manufacturer name that is different from the name on your equipment. There are some manufacturers whose names appear more than once in the list on the display. Try registering the different names until you find the one that works best. You have to register separate names for your TV and VCR, even if they are made by the same manufacturer. You may not be able to use Secret Sender to control models that combine a TV and VCR in a single unit, multifunctional TV's that can be used as computer monitors, or other televisions or VCRs equipped with special functions. Some TV and VCR models may not be equipped with features and functions that Secret Sender can control. In such cases, nothing will happen when you press EXE to activate the corresponding function on Secret Sender. Note that manufacturer name registrations are cleared whenever you perform the all-reset operation. (br/all-12/13/94)
