The Radio Shack EC-256 64K Electronic Organizer with World Time and Map
is an amazing compact personal data management tool that is incredibly
easy to use.  Its icon menu lets you quickly and easily select the
function you want.  The electronic organizer is loaded with the following
features:

     Real-Time Clock - Displays the current date, time, and day of the
                       week in both your home time zone and in any one of
                       29 other cities around the world.  You can use a
                       12-or 24-hour format and specify daylight saving
                       time.

 Telephone Directory - Puts up to 1000 expanded telephone entries at your
                       fingertips, including names and addresses, phone
                       and fax numbers plus additional notes.

Scheduler with Alarm - Maintains date/time, type, and details of events,
                       and can also sound a reminder alarm.

            Calendar - Displays any month from January 1901 through
                       December 2099.  You can highlight holidays or
                       anniversary dates.

                Memo - Lets you store important records.

     Secret Function - Protects personal information by requiring a
                       password to access records you mark as secret.

Anniversary Reminder - Lets you keep track of events that occur once a
                       year, once a month or once a day with an audible
                       signal and a reminder message.

          Calculator - Performs basic calculations including memory
                       functions and date calculations.

          Poker Game - Lets you play five-card draw poker against the 
                       EC-356.

       Data Transfer - Exchanges data with another EC-356.  You need a
                       data transfer cable (available separately) for
                       communications.  You can also exchange data with an
                       IBM PC compatible computer by using an optional
                       interface unit.

Multiple Language Capability

Your organizer can produce messages in any one of five different languages
(English, German, French, Italian, Spanish).  Use the following
procedure to select the language you want.

To select the system language

1.  Press ON to switch on power.

2.  Enter the Telephone Directory Mode by pressing MENU 1.

    You could enter Memo, Reminder, Schedule Keeper, Calendar, Home Time
    or World Time here.

3.  Press FUNC three times to display the third function menu.

    In the Calendar, Home Time, or World Time mode, press FUNC twice to
    display the second function menu.

4.  Press 1 to select "LANGUAGE".

    The above operation causes a list of languages to appear on the
    display.  The language that is currently selected is highlighted on
    the display.

5.  Select the language you want to use.

    You can directly specify a language by pressing the number key that
    corresponds to the language you want to use.

    You can also select a language by using up arrow or down arrow, to
    move the highlighting around the menu until the language you want
    to use is highlighted.  Each time you move the highlighting, the
    title LANGUAGE (1-5) at the top of the top of the screen changes
    to the language that is currently highlighted.

6.  While the language you want to use is selected (highlighted), press
    SET.

    To exit the language-selection menu without changing the current
    language, press ESC.

    The system language automatically changes to English whatever you
    perform the RESET operation.
