REPLACING THE BATTERIES

The diary comes with two CR2016 3-volt lithium batteries installed for
power.  When the display dims or the diary will not work properly, replace
the batteries with Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-160.

1.  Use a screwdriver to remove the screw from the battery compartment
    cover.

2.  Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow.

3.  Use a screwdriver to remove the screw that holds the backup battery's
    securing strap in place.

4.  Use a pointed object, such as a straightened paper clip, to push out
    the backup battery.

5.  Place on CR2016 battery in the backup battery compartment with its
    positive (+) side up.

6.  Replace the backup battery's securing strap and secure it with the
    screw you removed in Step 3. 

7.  Use a pointed object, such as a straightened paper clip, to push out
    the main battery.

8.  Place another CR2016 battery in the main compartment with its positive
    (+) side up.

9.  Replace the compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

RESETTING THE DIARY

After you replace a battery, the diary might lock up.  If this happens, you
must reset the diary.  Use a pointed object, such as a straightened paper
clip, to press RESET, located at the back of the diary.  The day and time
will be lost, but other records will not.
