TELEPHONE DIRECTORY AND DATA MEMO MODES Use the following procedures to recall data in the Telephone Directory and Data Memo Modes To Recall Data Using Sequential Search 1. Enter the Telephone Directory or Data Memo Mode 2. Use /\ or \/ to scroll data items. Holding down /\ or \/ scrolls at high speed. To Recall Data Using Initial Character Search 1. Enter the Telephone Directory or Data Memo Mode. 2. Input the first few characters you want to look for. To search for "JACKSON ERIC," for example, you could input "JACK". You can search for up to 16 characters. 3. Press /\ or \/ to start the search. After the search is complete, you can use /\ or \/ to scroll through items. The message "Not Found" appears if nothing matches your input. In this case, press < or > to display your input again so you can change it to something else. SCHEDULE MODE Use the following procedures to recall data in the Schedule Mode. To Recall Data Using Daily Sequential Search 1. Enter the Schedule Mode. 2. Use /\ or \/ to scroll through the days. Holding down /\ or \/ scrolls at high speed. To Recall Data Using Appointment Sequential Search 1. Enter the Schedule Mode. 2. Use SHIFT then /\ or \/ to jump to the next date that has Schedule Mode data. The message "Not Found!" appears when there are no more dates containing schedule mode data. Press < or > to clear the message. To Recall Data Using Initial Character and Icon Search 1. Enter the Schedule Mode. 2. Use the procedure under "To Input an Icon" on Faxback Doc. # 31612 to select the icon you want to look for. You can skip this step and look for only text if you want. If you want to specify both an icon and text for the search, you must input the icon first. 3. Input the first few characters that you want to look for. You can search for up to 16 characters. You can skip this step and look for only an icon if you want. 4. Press /\ (past) or \/ (future) to start the search. The message "Not Found!" appears if nothing matches your input. In this case, press < or > to display your input again so you can change it to something else. The indicator "SEARCH" stays on the display while a search operation is in progress. To Recall Data Using Calendar Search 1. Enter the Calendar Mode. 2. Use <, >, /\, or \/ to move the date cursor to the date you want to view. 3. Press EXE. The unit changes to the Schedule Mode for the date you selected in the calendar. To recall Data Using Date Search 1. Enter the Schedule Mode. 2. Press FUNCTION. 3. Highlight "Date," then press EXE. 4. Input the date you want to find. 5. Press EXE. EDITING DATA Use the following procedures to edit data. Important! To edit data in the Secret Memory Area, you first have to enter the Secret Memory Area. To Edit Text Data 1. Enter the mode that contains the data you want to edit, then recall it. 2. Press FUNCTION. 3. Highlight "Edit," then press EXE. This causes "EDIT" to appear on the display along with the cursor. 4. Use /\, \/, <, or > to move to the characters you want to edit. Note the following SHIFT operations you can use for cursor movement. When the cursor is at the beginning of an entry: SHIFT \/ jumps to the end of the entry. SHIFT /\ jumps to the beginning of the previous entry. When the cursor is at the end of an entry: SHIFT \/ jumps to the end of the next entry. SHIFT /\ jumps to the beginning of the entry. 5. Edit the text as described in "Inputting Text" on Faxback Doc. # ____ . 6. After you finish, press EXE. To Change a Telephone Directory Fun Face 1. Enter the Telephone Directory Mode, then recall the item whose Fun Face you want to change. 2. Press FUNCTION. 3. Highlight "Edit," then press EXE. 4. First make any text changes that you want. 5. Press EXE. 6. Highlight the operation you want, then press EXE. "No Change" leaves the portrait as it is. "Change" proceeds to a display that lets you make changes to the portrait. "Delete" causes a message to appear asking whether you really want to delete the Fun Face. Select "Yes" to delete, or "No" to cancel the operation. 7. Press EXE to complete the operation and store any changes you made. To Change a Schedule Mode Date 1. Enter the Schedule Mode, then recall the data you want to edit. 2. Press FUNCTION. 3. Highlight "Edit," then press EXE. This causes "EDIT" to appear on the display. 4. Press FUNCTION. 5. Highlight "Date," then press EXE. 6. Change the date. You can also use < or > to move the cursor, then input the desired number(s). 7. After you finish, press EXE. 8. At this point you can make changes in the description text if you want. 9. Press EXE to complete the procedure. To Change a Schedule Mode Icon 1. Enter the Schedule Mode, then recall the data you want to edit. 2. Press FUNCTION. 3. Highlight "Edit" then press EXE. * This causes "EDIT" to appear on the display. 4. Press FUNCTION. 5. Highlight "Icons," then press EXE. 6. Use the procedure under "To input an Icon" on Faxback Doc. # ____ to select an icon. 7. After you finish, press EXE. DELETING DATA Use the following procedures to delete stored data items. To Delete a Single Data Item 1. Enter the mode that contains the data you want to delete, then recall the data. 2. Press FUNCTION. 3. Highlight "Delete," then press EXE. 4. Highlight "1 Data," then press EXE. 5. Use < to highlight "Yes," then press EXE. "No" cancels without deleting anything. To Delete All Data Items in a Mode 1. Enter the mode that contains the data you want to delete. 2. Press /\ or \/ to display any data in the mode. 3. Press FUNCTION. 4. Highlight "Delete," then press EXE. 5.
