EC-4035 Engineering Scientific Calculator (650-0983) Special Keys Faxback Doc. # 32049 MODE KEY This key lets you change the operating characteristics of your calculator. There are five calculation modes, three angular unit modes, and four display modes. To place your calculator in one or more of these modes, press [MODE] followed by the appropriate key. An M appears on the display when you press [MODE]. [.] Enters/exits the Engineering Display mode. (ENG appears/disappears on the display.) In this mode, calculation results are displayed using exponents of 10 that are multiples of 3 [0] Enters the Unit Calculation mode. UNIT appears on the display, and calculations using seven types of units, such as watts, can be carried out. [1] Enters Normal Calculation mode. Pressing [MODE][1] cancels the Unit, Base-n, Com[lex, Standard Deviation, or Linear Regression mode. [2] Enters Base-n Calculation mode. Binary/octal/decimal/hexadecimal calcualtions or conversions and logical operations can be performed in base-2, 8, 10, or 16. [3] Enters Complex Calculation mode. CMPLX appears on the display. [4] Sets the angular mode, used for trigonometric calculations, to degrees. D appears on the display. [5] Sets the angular mode to radians. R appears on the display. [6] Sets the angular mode to grads. G appears on the display. [7] Sets the display to show a specified number of decimal places. FIX is displayed. [8] Sets the display to show the specified number of significant digits. SCI is displayed. [9] Cancels the FIX or SCI setting. [+] Enters Standard Deviation Calculation Mode. SD is displayed.
